Husqui Packaging
Our plastic skirting board products are supplied in cardboard cartons made from up to 80% recycled material. We reuse these cartons when we distribute these products to our customers.
Some of our moulding and boards are packaged with lightweight, white LDPE (low density polyethylene) packing. This is the original packing material that we reuse. It is also 100% recyclable and can be recycled curb side, some supermarkets and at recycling centres.
Husqui samples are sent to our customers in 100% recyclable packaging.
Carbon Neutral by 2025
At Husqui HQ, we have implemented a plan of action including carbon reduction and carbon offsetting alongside ongoing evaluation of our operational processes. This will help us to monitor and improve our carbon footprint. We are on target to achieve our goal of being carbon neutral by 2025. Here are some of the ways we are doing this:
1. Electric Car Chargers
2. Installation of solar panels on our warehouse
3. Carbon-neutral servers supporting our IT
4. Energy efficient warehouse & office e.g. LED lighting, biomass boiler, energy efficient glazing & insulation
5. Single use paper reduction
6. Office & warehouse recycling
ISO 14001 Accreditation – We’ve Done It Again!
Husqui achieved ISO14001 accreditation in 2023. Each year, we are audited by an external agency to ensure our Environmental Management System is robust and effective. We are pleased to announce that we have successfully retained our accreditation!
Our accreditation provides assurance that we are committed to a programme of continual improvement to assess and reduce all environmental aspects as a result of our business, and their impacts.
This accreditation is important to Husqui because it is the right thing to do for our families, communities and for future generations.
ISO14001 is a set of international standards for environmental management systems. These help a business to improve their environmental performance through more efficient use of resources and reduction of waste. Find out more about ISO standards here.
Our environmental policy reflects ISO14001 values.
Partnership with Hillside Environmental Services
Husqui and it’s sister company, Mainline, commissioned Hillside Environmental Services to review their environmental impact and assess their carbon footprint. This report has identified what we are doing well and where we can do better. Hillside has recommended initiatives that have shaped our environmental policy, procedures and action plan.
